Children's PressLine is a youth media and leadership program with the mission of ensuring that children grow up as active participants in society. It amplifies the youth voice through the mainstream media, allowing young people to represent themselves on important issues, building better citizens and a more informed electorate.

Community-Word Project is an arts-in-education organization that provides creative arts residencies that serve low-income, high-risk public school youth. The organization uses collaborative creative writing, along with other art forms, to increase the literacy and leadership skills, self-esteem and sense of community.

Figure Skating in Harlem provides educational, cultural and athletic opportunities for girls in the Harlem community through the unique discipline and art of figure skating. Using figure skating as a powerful magnet, the organization provides girls from low and moderate-income families with an innovative ice-skating and educational program designed to build a positive self-image, teamwork, leadership, independence and academic achievement.

Girls for Gender Equity is committed to the physical, psychological, social and economic development of girls and women. Through education, organizing and physical fitness, the organization encourages communities to remove barriers and create opportunities for girls and women to live self-determined lives.

Groundswell Community Mural Project brings together professional artists, youth, grassroots organizations and communities in partnership to create works of public art in under-represented neighborhoods. The organization inspires youth to take active ownership of their future and quips them with the tools necessary for social change.



Kids Creative stresses the important role performing arts have in helping children develop the creative, critical thinking and social skills necessary to make peace both within themselves and within society. Through its after-school and summer programs, young people are challenged to utilize their creative energy and to collaborate with their classmates in order to write and perform original theater pieces, music and visual arts.

Opening Act is a free long-term after school theatre program that provides students attending New York City’s most underserved public schools the opportunity to gain confidence, pride and the knowledge they need to succeed at anything in life. Through their artistic achievements, students develop leadership and problem solving skills and strengthen their abilities in writing and self-expression.

The Reciprocity Foundation provides educational and youth development programming to homeless and foster-care youth. Its programs include career and arts focused after-school sessions, college preparation labs, design workshops led by industry leaders and workplace immersion internship programs.

Row New York combines rigorous athletic training and individualized academic tutoring to empower girls and young women to be strong athletes and successful students as they grow into healthy, responsible adults.

Young Athletes, Inc. provides at-risk youth with structured programs that improve fitness, academic growth, discipline, self-sufficiency and leadership in an effort to steer them towards a positive future.
