Can you imagine kids clamoring for more instruction, more homework and rigorous academic demands? Breakthrough New York’s college access program transforms the lives of motivated, low-income students beginning in middle school, where students attend the education program twice weekly and during summers. BTNY ensures its students attend NYC’s best public or independent high schools or boarding schools, and all gain acceptance to four-year colleges, where they continue to receive support through graduation.
Fast Facts
- In 2015 Breakthrough expanded to a 3rd site in the Bronx in partnership with the New York Junior Tennis and Learning. BTNY now has sites in Manhattan, Brooklyn, and the Bronx.
- 100% of Breakthrough’s 2015 seniors will matriculated at 4-year institutions in fall 2015.
- In the 2015-2016 school Breakthrough will serve 368 students.
