Managing Partner and Co-Founder, Madison Capital
Richard Wagman serves as a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Madison Capital. In this capacity, he oversees all functions within Madison Capital, with a particular emphasis on transaction sourcing, corporate strategy, acquisitions and capital markets activities. He is also responsible for identifying and securing institutional joint venture partners for Madison Capital. Mr. Wagman has overseen the acquisition of over $2 billion in retail, residential and office properties in New York City and along the East Coast of the United States. He serves as the Chairman of Madison Capital’s Investment Committee.
In 1994, Mr. Wagman founded Principal Property Group LLC (Principal), a New York-based real estate investment company. The firm acquired close to one million square feet of commercial and industrial properties in the U.S. and Canada and sold the majority of its assets to a publicly traded REIT. Prior to founding Principal, Mr. Wagman served as an Acquisition Associate with Lend Lease International in their New York, London and Paris offices. In this role, he was involved in advising public and private pension funds in real estate investments in the United States and Europe.
Mr. Wagman is from Montreal, Canada and resides in Manhattan. He is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), a board member of The Catalog for Giving, and actively involved in the Steering Committee for the Real Estate Division of UJA. Mr. Wagman graduated from the Wharton School of Finance and Commerce of the University of Pennsylvania with a dual concentration in Real Estate and Finance.
